Jamie Anderson Wins 2007 Burton US Open Slopestyle
Irvine, CA - March 20, 2007 - Billabong’s young snowboarding starlet Jamie
Anderson won the slopestyle competition and the Snickers Best Trick award at
The 25th Annual US Open Snowboarding Championships on Friday.
Each competitor took three runs to earn their top score in the heavy East
Coast snow at Stratton Mountain. South Lake Tahoe local, Anderson wouldn’t
be slowed down. I flew into Vermont five days before I competed. I was so
nervous, I thought about the course everyday, says Anderson.
After a first run that included a frontside 180 indy grab, Cab 540,
frontside 360, method air and a nose press to tail press on the last rail
Anderson took the win. When I landed my Cab 5 I had no idea I was going to
win the best trick, in fact, I had forgotten about the whole best trick
thing. When I found out I won I was so happy says Anderson. Her Cab 540
earned her the Snickers Best Trick award for the day.
Jamie is such a standout this season. She’s young and extremely talented.
We are all so proud of her and her accomplishments, comments Megan
Brainard, Billabong Team Manager.
Anderson pocketed $20,000 in first place slopestyle prize money, a Motorola
cell phone, and $5,000 more in trick cash. Anderson’s the US Open women’s
winner, and remains the leader of the TTR rankings.
Congratulations Jamie!
